Digitus – The Watch Ring

Wonder what your watches would become in future? I suspect this would be it. A ring-watch!

Digitus Watch Ring

This ring-watch is powered by an innovative technology that uses small magnetic spheres to show time. When electricity is passed through its underlying material, it would align the spheres according to the requirement. The spheres have some decorating material and when it comes to top, you will see the display, otherwise its pearl white thought the body.

This ring watch is named as Digitus (inspired from digitus annularis, the Latin term meaning ring finger) and it’s powered by 1400 small spheres. The spheres are controlled by micro circuits, which in turn are powered by a small battery. Digitus can show you current time and calendar.

The creator says, this technology is less power hungry and hence more environmental friendly.

Honestly, I think this device has a serious disadvantage of being magnetically driven. Since the spheres are aligned by magnetic power, a more powerful magnetic field might affect it. Hence, you won’t be able to use it near a magnetic device.
