Play iPod Content in HD with Creative Xdock HD

Creative last week announced a new device for the iPods called Xdock HD. This device helps you play your iPod content in high definition.

Creative Xdock HD

The Xdock HD upconverts your regular iPod video in to 720p or 1080i resolutions to provide more detailed video playback. Creative accomplishes this feat by use of a proprietary upsampling technology.

The audio features of Xdock includes upsampling of regular audio to Xtreme Fidelity (X-Fi) and comes the regular X-Fi features like X-Fi Crystallizer (which upsamples regular audio to 24bit to re-creates some lost frequencies due to compression) and X-Fi CMSS 3D.(which converts your stereo audio to multi-channel one)

For easier navigation while plugged in to TV, Xdock HD creates a more feature rich menu from your regular iPod menu. This menu is easily controllable with accompanying remote control.

Xdock connects to your HDTV using HDMI connectivity. It also provides additional connectivity options through composite video out. It connects to DTS receiver through the optical lineout and to analogue amplifier with analogue output.

Xdock HD costs $399 and comes with one X-Fi Wireless receiver to connect to a pair of remote speakers. Additional wireless receivers will be sold at $99 per unit.

The Most Expensive iPod Shuffle

Yes, you read it right. It costs more than just $79 that you have paid for your iPod Shuffle last time. This iPod shuffle is made of gold and diamonds and comes with a pair of diamond earphones.

This special edition iPod Shuffle is made of 430 diamonds and 18 Karat Gold. It costs around $45000 USD.

The funny thing is that the designer of this iPod shuffle just added diamonds & gold to the same old-fashioned earphone that Apple provides with each iPod shuffle. After all, you are paying $45K and you are entitled to receive more efficient in-ear earbud earphones!

If you are interested to buy this diamond-iPod, do not forget to come to the auction. It will be donated to a charity cause auction at Europe’s biggest charity dinner event, held by Quintessentially in London 13th of March 2008.

iPond - The Weird iPod Speaker

iPond Aquarium Speakers for the iPod
iPond, as cleverly named is a portable speaker for the iPods. It is a portable aquarium-speaker for the iPod like mp3 players.

There is input jack and you can connect your mp3 player / iPods to it using the accompanying cable.

The iPonds are sold at Pet Chains and Pet Goods store in Australia. It costs $70 per piece.

The weirdest thing is that, this portable aquarium that can only hold 650ml of water is sold with a Siamese fighting fish that environmental scientists say require at least 10 liters of water for its proper health.

According to environmentalists, iPond’s speakers are placed under the aquarium and this may transfer sound waves to water, which in result is harmful for the fish.

All of these have sparked anger from environmentalists and now they want to stop selling iPonds in Australia.

However, this news is working counterproductive and now iPond is the most sought holiday gadget in Australia.
